Opposite Wilhelmina pumping station museum, municipality of Alkmaar

Wilhelmina is one of the four electric pumping stations that kept the former municipality of Schermer dry between 1928 and 1995. The rare combination of pumping station, machinist’s residence and the Amsterdam School architecture make it unique historical heritage. This is also the start of a fine coastal hike, taking in captivating sights such as windmills, monuments and beautiful panoramas.
